In 1862 Mr. P.J. Schmitt sold his first common anchor from the store in his smithy. By doing so he laid the foundation for Schmitt Anchors and Chaincables BY., widely known in shipping circles for their services.

In the past already many Owners have found their way to SCHMITT ANCHORS & CHAINCABLES, who maintains an enormous stock of all types and dimensions of anchors, studlink chain and appliances, ready for delivery allover the world.

Repairs on damaged anchors and chain cables are done for many shipowners and also recovered materials have often been transported to SCHMITT's premises in order to be inspected, repaired where necessary , cleaned, tested and stored, waiting for further use on vessels.
